I am thoroughly impressed with the out-of-the-box fit, finish and sharpness of this $36.00 Métis-pattern "trade knife" Made by Dean Oliver in Oregon and sold by Track of the Wolf. It weighs mere ounces....look for a sheath to go with it.....and maybe a video about it. It's supposedly completely hand-made in America...a bit hard to believe for $36.00. I'm still waiting for the other trade knife...a Jeff White Nessmuk pattern, to arrive in the mail any day.
Here is the rusticated and distressed Frontier-Style sheath I came up with for the knife.
