More Leather Work -- Rusticated Trade Knife Sheath

Here is a sheath I made for my own personal Jeff White Nesmuk style skinner. I distressed and rusticated the leather in order to give it a look to match the period of this trade knife. I also put extra holes in the loop and at the top of the welt in order to allow attachment points for easy lashing to a pack or belt or what suits the situation.

Métis Trade Knife

I am thoroughly impressed with the out-of-the-box fit, finish and sharpness of this $36.00 Métis-pattern "trade knife" Made by Dean Oliver in Oregon and sold by Track of the Wolf. It weighs mere ounces....look for a sheath to go with it.....and maybe a video about it. It's supposedly completely hand-made in America...a bit hard to believe for $36.00. I'm still waiting for the other trade knife...a Jeff White Nessmuk pattern, to arrive in the mail any day.

Here is the rusticated and distressed Frontier-Style sheath I came up with for the knife.
